On Monday 21st January, The Prime Minister, Rt Hon. David Cameron MP met with Holocaust survivor, Freda Wineman and Holocaust Educational Trust Ambassadors, William Pinder, Hannah Hardman and Gameli Ladzekpo, who have each committed themselves to teaching the lessons of the Holocaust to their peers, to mark Holocaust Memorial Day on 27th January.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister signed the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment, which is placed in the Houses of Parliament each year. The book gives MPs the opportunity to pledge their commitment to preserving the memory of the Holocaust and to challenging all forms of prejudice and hatred.

Signing the Book of Commitment, the Prime Minister wrote:

“Your work is absolutely vital in making sure that we always remember what happened in the Holocaust - and that we never stop learning the lessons. We commemorate the lives lost in the Holocaust and think also of those killed more recently in Rwanda, Cambodia, Dafur and Bosnia.

The tragedy is that so many did suffer from persecution and prejudice, but your work will make sure we never give up this fight and build a better world.”
