UK Government funding for the maintenance of Auschwitz-Birkenau

The Holocaust Educational Trust has welcomed today’s announcement by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Rt Hon Eric Pickles MP, of a UK Government’s contribution of £2.1m for the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation fund, established for the maintenance and preservation of the site of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Comment on the verdict of the Demjanjuk trial

Following the conviction in Munich yesterday of John Demjanjuk, who was found guilty of helping to murder more than 28,000 Jews at Sobibor extermination camp, Chairman of the Holocaust Educational Trust and former war crimes investigator Lord Janner said “The verdict of this trial sends an unequivocal message, namely that the passage of time is no barrier to justice – and that age or poor health cannot absolve anyone of appalling crimes."
