The Parkes Institute for the Study of Jewish/non-Jewish Relations in collaboration with Birkbeck Institute for the Study of Antisemitism – Heroes? Nations, Memory and the Jews.
In this event, four speakers will discuss the issues raised by the memorialisation of a national hero whole relationahop to Jews was problematic or persecutory. The discussion will focus on Europe from the medieval period to present day. The talk will be followed by a Q&A.

The Blavatnik Archive – Jewish Soldiers & Fighters in WWII
Nearly 1.5 million Jewish men and women made vital contributions to the allied wae effort, however these contributions remain virtually unknown. This conference will feature leading experts from universities, archives, libraries and museums from around the world alongside veterans, Holocaust survivors and their families to explore the experience of Jewish soldiers in The Second World War.

The Wiener Holocaust Library – Virtual Student Talk: The Nazi Rise to Power
This talk is aimed at GCSE and A-Level students and will use sources from the Library’s archive to examine the Nazi rise to power. You will explore the aftermath of the First World War, the role of the Weimar Republic, the early years of the Nazi Party formation and how the Nazis ultimately consolidated their power.

Yad Vashem – Chosen issues in Holocaust History
18 hours total
For Ambassadors looking to increase their historical knowledge on the Holocaust. The course will provide an in-depth look at different topics, helping you to build on the core learning you have already done with the Trust.
The University of Nottingham – Photography the Holocaust
3 weeks, 5 hours weekly study
Consider how photos can offer new insights into the Holocaust and what problems we face when looking at who took the photos – the ‘perpetrator gaze’. You’ll look at both personal and propaganda photography and as well as German politics and historical photography with insights from the National Holocaust Centre and Museum.
