Due to COVID-19, we cannot deliver any in-person Lessons from Auschwitz Projects this academic year.
However, we are delighted to let you know that we will be offering a new and exciting virtual Lessons from Auschwitz Online experience to ensure that students can continue to learn about Auschwitz-Birkenau and the Holocaust.
Details for Lessons from Auschwitz Online are currently being finalised but to find out more please sign up here. We will be in touch with you when further details are released.
In the meantime, we encourage you to explore the rest of our website where you can find information about our other educational programmes and teaching resources which we hope will support your teaching of the Holocaust.
Since 1999, over 41,000 students and teachers have taken part in the Holocaust Educational Trust's groundbreaking Lessons from Auschwitz Project.
Based on the premise that 'hearing is not like seeing', this four-part course explores the universal lessons of the Holocaust and its relevance for today. The LFA Project aims to increase knowledge and understanding of the Holocaust for young people and to clearly highlight what can happen if prejudice and racism become acceptable.
The visits to the former Nazi concentration and death camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau are preceded and followed by half-day seminars in order to ensure an exceptional educational experience.
1. Orientation
Hear a Holocaust survivor speak, learn about pre-war Jewish life and prepare for the visit.
2. The Visit
Visit Poland for one day to tour authentic sites and museum exhibits.
3. Follow-up
Reflect on the visit and the contemporary relevance of the lessons of the Holocaust.
4. Next steps
Design and carry out a plan to spread the lessons and take action.
