Karen Pollock MBE's response to today's visit by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to the Berlin Holocaust Memorial

Commenting on the news that TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge today visited the Berlin Holocaust Memorial, Karen Pollock MBE, Chief Executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust, said:

“Yesterday, Their Royal Highnesses met with survivors of the Holocaust, they saw for themselves the site where thousands were murdered, and they learnt about the darkest chapter in our history. Today’s visit to the Berlin Holocaust Memorial will be particularly poignant as they reflect on that visit and those special encounters. We are profoundly grateful for the importance Their Royal Highnesses place on this episode in history – it sends a strong message that as a nation we will never forget the Holocaust and speaks volumes of the place it holds in our nation’s collective memory.”
