Each year to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, we produce a series of cards looking at individual stories or themes from the Holocaust.
Each card contains a reading, with background information, linked to this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day theme, The Power of Words. The bravery of the people represented on the cards, who in unimaginable conditions took huge risks to record their experiences, thoughts and reflections, stands as a testament to the power of words. As we consider the impact of words – for good and for ill – during the Holocaust, we remember the 6 million Jewish men, women and children who were murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators.
