On Tuesday 16th January, at a reception in Speaker's House in Parliament, Rt Hon Sajid Javid, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, announced funding for an initiative, led by the Holocaust Educational Trust and the Union of Jewish Students (UJS) to counter antisemitism on campus.
Based on the model of our Lessons from Auschwitz Project, this programme will give student and university leaders the opportunity to see for themselves where antisemitism can lead, and give them the tools to cover how best tackle it in their universities.
Announcing the project, Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP said:
"We all have a duty to speak out in the memory of those who were murdered during the Holocaust and all those, today, who are the subject of hatred and antisemitism... That's why I am proud that the Government will fund this new programme to tackle antisemitism, prejudice and intolerance on university campuses."
