Karen Pollock MBE comments on Deborah Lipstadt's interview

Speaking after the Trust’s annual Ambassador Conference, where Professor Deborah Lipstadt gave the keynote lecture, Karen Pollock MBE, Chief Executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust, said:

"Deborah Lipstadt is right to draw attention to examples in the UK where the history of the Holocaust is deliberately distorted. It may not seem as obvious to some, but the intent to diminish the memory and undermine the truth is clear.

This ‘softcore’ denial as described by Deborah seeps into society and becomes normalised if it goes unchecked. Let us be clear, antisemitism is at the heart of Holocaust denial and it is dangerous - we must challenge it wherever it occurs. That is why our young Ambassadors from across the country left our conference inspired to stand up and make their voice heard."
