OUTREACH PROGRAMME
“The most memorable lesson of the year...”

In the past year, more than 300 schools partnered with the Holocaust Educational Trust, utilising our Outreach programme to enhance their own Holocaust educational provision.

Outreach Programme

  • Through our Outreach programme, the Trust arranges for Holocaust survivors to visit schools to deliver their personal testimony and for trained Holocaust educators to lead workshop sessions.

  • Survivor testimony forms a key component of effective Holocaust education by putting a human face to history and enabling students explore its lessons in depth.

  • Our interactive workshops are appropriate for students from Year 6 (age 10) upwards. Workshop content can link to multiple subject areas and encourage critical thinking about the complex issues raised by an exploration of the Holocaust. Programmes can be tailored to each school’s needs and we are experienced in working with all types of school, including special schools and Pupil Referral Units.

  • Our outreach programme is free of charge. To enquire about organising a visit by a survivor and/or and educator to your school, please contact JLIB_HTML_CLOAKING .

  • A lesson pack created by our team of experts in Holocaust education
  • An in-school CPD session for teachers

  • An evaluation report based on feedback from your students, teachers and the Trust’s staff
