Coronavirus (COVID-19): Holocaust Educational Trust Update - 6th March 2020

As on all public health matters, the Holocaust Educational Trust will be following government and NHS guidance in regard to Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In line with that guidance, we are continuing to deliver our spring educational programme, including all our planned visits to Auschwitz-Birkenau and Bergen-Belsen.

However, in light of government guidance that the virus has the most severe impact on the elderly, we are taking extra precautions to protect our beloved Holocaust survivors. We are temporarily suspending all survivor activity through the Trust until the end of March and are researching alternate options to deliver our programming. This will remain continually under review, with the survivors’ health and wellbeing our first priority.

We are asking schools and other institutions we are working with over the coming weeks to inform us if a teacher or pupil has a confirmed or suspected case of the virus, or has recently returned from one of the affected countries listed on the Foreign and Commonwealth’s website.

Please do contact the Trust on 0207 222 6822 if you have any concerns, asking to speak to the Belsen75 team about visits to Bergen-Belsen, the Outreach team regarding survivor-related programming, or call 0207 222 4761 to discuss our Lessons from Auschwitz Project.

We will continue to monitor government guidance and advise if there are any changes to our programmes.

Thank you for your understanding and your support.
